Roy David Sullivan, Sr.

Mr. Roy David Sullivan Sr. of Evans, Georgia was born May 5, 1930, in Edgefield County, South Carolina to the late Charlie and Katherine Stokes Sullivan. He transitioned peacefully from earth to his eternal home on October 5, 2022, at Jefferson County Hospital, Louisville, Georgia.

He was converted and baptized at Oakey Grove Baptist Church in Evans, Georgia at an early age.  After being baptized at Oakey Grove Baptist Church he served as a Trustee, maintained the grounds of the church, was a faithful member of the male chorus, and served in other areas of the church until his health failed. Roy was hired and worked at CSX Transportation for over 30 years before retiring.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 40 years, Esther Sullivan; his sister, Marie Flono; his brother, Willie Sullivan.

He leaves to cherish his memories: three sons, Emanuel (Cora) Sullivan, Roy (Kathy) Sullivan Jr. and Eddie Sullivan, all of Evans, Georgia; two sisters, Geneva Tate and Loudia Perrin and one brother; Samuel Sullivan all of Evans Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Sullivan and Robena Vance both of Augusta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
