Obituary

A Time to Die: The windows of heaven opened on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the home in Lincolnton, Georgia and welcomed a wife, a mother, a sister, a grandmother, an aunt, and a friend home. She was greeted by her grandparents, parents, sisters, brother, and four children: Mary Lee, Richard, Elaine, and Nathaniel.

A Time to be Born: Mrs. Maudell Leverett was born in Wilkes County, Georgia on April 19, 1925, to the late Susie Mickens & Tallie Smith.

A Time to Plant: Maudell Leverett was reared in Lincolnton, Georgia. She joined First Baptist Church at an early age. She was a devoted and faithful servant of the Lord. She was employed at Wilkes Memorial Hospital as a certified nurse assistant for 29 years.

A Time to Love: Mrs. Maudell Leverett married Monroe Leverett in 1940. Into this union ten children were born. She is now reunited with her husband of sixty-five years.

A Time to Mourn: She leaves to cherish her memories, her six children: Bonnie A. (Lillie) Leverett, Irvington, NJ; Linda L. Jones, Lincolnton, GA; Shelton S. (Veronica) Leverett; Irvington, NJ, Robert J. (Julia) Leverett, Lincolnton, GA; William I. Leverett, Washington, GA; Gregory E. (Erica) Leverett, Hartwell, GA. She had 26 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
