Lester Lewis Elam

Lester Lewis Elam passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. He was born to the late J.D. and Beulah Mae Elam on December 14, 1953. He worked as a Conductor for CSX Railroad Transportation and retired after 35 years of employment.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents; J.D. and Beulah Mae Elam; three brothers, Thomas Rufus Elam, Henry Mitchell Elam, and Arthur Elam; and sister, Mattie Mae Bussey.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: daughter, SanGae (Justin) Ramsey; three sons, Mario (Britainy) Dent, Elijah Elam, and Lester Elam Jr.; three brothers, J.D. (Redia) Elam Jr., Harvey (Leverta) Elam, and Kenneth (Mary Ann) Elam; two sisters, Ruby (McKinley) Baker, and Joan (Gary) Crawford; six grandchildren, Cheyenne Ramsey, Winston Ramsey, Hope Boysen, Maliyah Dent, Mario Dent Jr., and Ashton Dent; two sisters-in-law, Annie Elam and Alberta Elam; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
