Mrs. Jessie Mae Elam, wife, mother, and grandmother was born on February 14, 1956, in Clarks Hill, South Carolina, McCormick County, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jessie and Novella Freeman.
Jessie graduated from McCormick High, class of 1974. She worked many years at Talmadge Manufacturing Plant and at Evans Nursing Home. She spent the rest of her years being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethany Baptist Church and was an active in the church until she succumbs to her illness.
Jessie was the typical housewife, where she cooked, baked, sewed and grew a beautiful garden.
Most of all Jessie loved her husband, Willie Ray Elam of 39 years. Jessie will be remembered and missed by her family, friends, and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Freeman, Robert Freeman and Arthur Freeman and her sister, Elizabeth Houston, goddaughter, LaKendria Houston and sister-in-law, Easter Lily Elam.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Willie ray Elam; loving daughter, Lawsianita Freeman and Cassandra Elam; loving sons, Jarvis (Brittany) Elam, Tristan (Porsha) Elam and Theodore Elam; goddaughter, Aresha Freeman; sisters, Annette (Curtis) Sibert , Lora Green, Cynthia Freeman, Darlene (Silas) Lovett and Robbiestine Turner; brother, Tony Freeman; Loving Mother in law, Mrs. Willie Mae Elam; grandchildren, Jasmine Freeman, Zariya Rice, Jayden Elam, Davin Turman, Jakel Elam, Jayla Elam, Avery Elam, Taylor Walton, Alaysia Freeman, Aiden Elam and Alicia Elam; great grandchild, Carter Freeman; sisters in law, Paulette Freeman, Wilhemenia Freeman, Mary Ann Freeman, Redia (JD) Elam, Yvonne Norman, Lillian (Richard) Martin, Ginger (Jerry) Peters; brothers in law, Sam Elam, Otis (Joann) Elam and Tony Elam; six aunts and four uncles.
